New Playhouse is a creative company bringing temporary theatre and performance space in disused city centre locations. Our first project, Great Northern Playhouse, saw a pop-up, black box theatre, in an empty shop unit, breathe life into its bare location by bringing fifteen weeks of high-quality theatre and art programming.The space provided a much needed mid-size venue for production companies in Manchester, and give a high-level of marketing support to independent North West talent. We aim to take away the barriers of 'fringe theatre' with carefully designed spaces, strong, consistent branding and clear B2C marketing that concentrates on engaging new audiences with risk-taking, quality productions.We work with all manner of theatre companies, from established producers to student groups.
