We are the first local, online-only news and entertainment source for the city of Newport Vermont, and Orleans County. We report on the extraordinary people, issues, events, food, and environment in our NEK of the woods. The purpose of the site is to provide timely news and information relating to the towns within Orleans County, Vermont. We are also committed to hyperlocal, in-depth reporting on events throughout our communities. Taking advantage of the opportunity that digital publishing offers, we upload audio, video, and photos of most of the events we cover. Newport Dispatch was officially launched October 18th, 2013. We believe that through civil discussion, communities grow stronger. We encourage all residents to participate, and only ask that each contributor treat others with respect. Newport Dispatch is not affiliated with any other local media. We are independently operated.
