AcTV News is a biweekly newscast that delivers important current events to students grades 3-12 through an engaging video format. The AcTV Newscast is accompanied by a ready-made, standards-based curriculum for teachers and an At Home Learning Platform for parents. The AcTV News standards-based curriculum for teachers is accessible for both in-person and remote learning through AcTV News's online platform. The ready-made curriculum was created for teachers, by teachers and accompanies the newscast to provide students the opportunity to engage further with current events, collaborate with peers, share ideas and opinions, and participate in service learning projects. The AcTV News At Home Learning Platform for parents provides families an opportunity to engage in the news all together. In addition to the child friendly newscast, the AcTV News At Home Learning Platform provides Discussion Questions to prompt conversation between families about current events as well as Student Activities which allow children the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning experiences based on the news stories that interest them most!By bringing news to young people, presented by young people, and providing teachers a ready-made, standards-based curriculum, and parents an At Home Learning Platform for current events, AcTV News hopes to cultivate a civically and socially active future generation.
