Hospital/Clinic - N/A, N/A, UK
The Clinical Leaders Network (CLN) was formed in response to the widely acknowledged national need (as identified in the National Audit Office Report (Jan 2005), Office of Government Commerce Gateway Review and the National Media) to develop and sustain a source of local clinical champions who in turn will act as agents of change. The need for improved clinical engagement became increasingly apparent as a result of issues relating to wider clinical engagement for the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) lead by NHS Connecting for Health (CfH), particularly in the Choose and Book programme (CAB). Early discussions and development of the approach to address this identified the need for wider clinical engagement in other programmes and indeed the wider NHS modernisation and reform agenda.Founded in 2006 by Dr Andy Coley and Dr Raj Kumar, it now operates as a national, professional network for all frontline practicing clinicians, care providers, care leaders and clinical leaders across England to enable them to develop professionally and personally and also to support and develop large scale transformational change across health & social care. The CLN aims to be a nexus between frontline leadership, policy makers and national decision makers. A strategic partner that supports innovation, defines best practice and enables standardisation delivering the best outcomes.
