NHSF Imperial Hindu Society Details
We're Imperial's largest faith society and one of the largest Hindu Societies in the UK! We aim to practice and protect the Hindu faith and culture within Imperial, by promoting a strong sense of community and togetherness in all that we do. We begin the year with our Welcome Dinner – a chance to meet your committee and other freshers through many fun activities and a delicious Indian meal! This is soon followed by our spectacular Diwali Ball – Rangoli, highlighted by the incredible freshers' ‘Ujaali' performance! This dance is open to all freshers, regardless of previous experience and is a fantastic way to form amazing life-long friendships. Rangoli, an inter-university collaboration, is your opportunity to dress up and dance the night away with a DJ, 3-course meal and breath-taking performances. Our NHSF affiliation enables networking across the country, through our participation in national sports competitions and other events. Our award-winning Winter Mela, gives you the chance to explore Hindu culture further with many workshops including yoga, dance, music, sports and henna! We celebrate Holi on campus – an afternoon packed with colour and laughter and our Sewa week is dedicated to raising money for charity through volunteering and fundraising events, such as blood drives and homeless food runs. Fortnightly ‘Chit Chat' sessions enable you to stay in touch with your roots through educational discussions and debates, with guest speakers too! We are more than a society - we are a family and we cannot wait to welcome you, regardless of your faith!
