Nigerian Medical Students' Association Details
NiMSA is a non-governmental organisation and the umbrella body of over 40,000 medical students in about 50 medical schools in Nigeria. NiMSA Objectives include;1. To cater for the general welfare, interest and defend the rights of all Members of the association.2. To serve as a forum for interaction and promotion of unity among members.3. To promote the ethics of the medical profession among medical students.4. To contribute towards the improvement of the health institutions of our people by rendering help in all projects where medical students can be of assistance.5. To project the good image of all members at national and international lscene.6. To serve as a platform for coordinating opinions and information in medical and related fields and to co-operate with the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and other related organizations, including student organizations at home and abroad in endeavors particularly affecting Nigeria.7. To protect, and defend the freedom of thought expression, religion, action, association, movement, and the right to health, life and means of livelihood.8. To represent the interest of Nigeria Medical Students in all National and International matters.9. To promote legitimate interests of medical students in social security, cultural activities and national reconstruction.10. To be fully involved in policy advocacy, health promotion and implementation.11. To stand against any practices that have direct or indirect negative consequences to the provision of quality health care.12. To maintain cordial relations with all national unions of students at home and abroad.13.To maintain absolute neutrality on partisan issues that border on political party affiliations.14.To stimulate an academic interchange of ideas in seminars, conferences, workshops and symposia.15.To encourage research, projects and academic discuss.
