The Nightline Association is the international umbrella charity for university Nightline services. Nightline services are run by highly trained students, offering their peers an emotional support and information service when other services are closed overnight. Our vision is for every student in higher and further education to have access to the support offered by Nightline services so that: * every student is able to talk about their feelings in a safe, non-judgmental environment * fewer students have their education compromised by emotional difficulties * fewer students die by suicide. To achieve our vision, our mission is to raise the quality, profile and number of Nightline services so that every student is aware of and has access to confidential emotional peer support. We do this through an established network of Trustees, Heads of Department and six different departments who each manage an aspect of Nightline life. With the exception of Victoria Sinclair, our Charity Development Manager, the Nightline Association is made up entirely of volunteers, who are the first port of call for Nightlines, whether the advice or assistance they need relates to IT, internal policy or an aspect of their development, we are here to support them going forward. The Nightline Association is very grateful for the generous grants received from charitable trusts and foundations including Comic Relief, The Matthew Elvidge Trust, The James Wentworth-Stanley Memorial Fund and The Charlie Waller Memorial Trust. Grants from these organisations have been re-invested in the essential training and development of Nightline volunteers. To find out more about the work that the Nightline Association does, or if you are interested in working with the Nightline Association, please visit our website (www.nightline.ac.uk) and see what we are all about.
