Dr. Nikhil Verma is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in the greater Chicago, Westchester, Oakbrook and Hindsdale, Illinois area, as well as Director of Sports Medicine Research for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center. He specializes in disorders of the shoulder, elbow and knee in addition to all sports related injuries. With advanced arthroscopic reconstructive techniques and cartilage restoration expertise, he uses both arthroscopic and open surgery to restore joint function and strives to keep patients involved in an active lifestyle. A graduate of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine, Dr. Verma completed his orthopedic residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. Dr. Verma, orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, maintains an active clinical practice performing over 500 procedures per year. In addition, he serves as a team physician for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls and Nazareth Academy. On the academic front, Dr. Verma serves as Professor and Director of Sports Medicine Research for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center, Associate Editor of the Arthroscopy Journal and on the editorial board of the Journal of Knee Surgery. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Shoulder and Elbow Society, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Major League Baseball Team Physician Association and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
