Nintendo Enthusiast was founded in 2011 by an entire community of Nintendo gamers who grew disenchanted with the mainstream video game journalism coverage of Nintendo. They left the IGN Boards en masse and formed their own creation. Aiming for journalistic integrity, informative content, and quality over superficial clickbait, the journalistic platform quickly found an engaged readership and loyal following. While the general focus of the website was to inform about Nintendo products such as the Wii U and 3DS through news and reviews, the site also is host to a large forum community who connect online as well as offline.
