Nkombi Volunteer Programme Details
The Nkombi Volunteer project was started 12 years ago to give students the opportunity to gain hands on experience on a working reserve.The volunteers assist the Mankwe management team in all aspects of Wildlife Management, anti poaching patrols, large mammal transects, nocturnal surveys and reserve management. They gain experience in different research methods while they assist management and visiting scientists with long term research projects carried out on the reserve. Students are also able to gather data towards dissertations and thesis's. The volunteers are accommodated in the rustic but comfortable Nkombi Camp in the heart of the reserve. They will have the opportunity to work with like minded people whilst gathering valuable work experience. On completion the volunteers are issued with certificates.
