My name is Alekhya Bhat, and I'm a teenager who was a victim of cyberbullying. This resulted in severe under-confidence, and I turned to eating disorders to try to lose weight and become "pretty," a construct I believed would end all my problems. For a year and a half, I had bulimia nervosa. It took me a while to realize the severity of the disorder, but when I did, I decided to do whatever I could to make sure no one else went through the same thing. No More Bully-Mia combines two things I went through - bullying and bulimia. It is a project dedicated to helping people identify bullying and eating disorders in other people, as well as what to do if they're being bullied or facing eating disorders themselves. This website includes a blog that discusses how to deal with eating disorders and bullying, along with free resource material for parents and teenagers, as well as stories from real people who experienced the same. Moreover, it aims to help people cope with what they're going through, teach people how not to be bystanders, and help parents understand how to identify signs of bullying and eating disorders in their children. Most of all, this project is dedicated to making sure everyone knows that there's a solution to whatever they are going through and that they aren't alone.
