"Noah Initiative" is a non-profit organization in Israel, comprised of students and young adults that aims to mitigate the young adult's economic crisis, and at the same time strengthen the peripheral cities. Influenced by the memorable ‘housing protest' of 2011 during which more than half-million protesters marched the streets, we decided to take action. As a first milestone, we are building a new urban quarter, mainly for young adults, in the outskirts of the city Ofakim in the south of Israel. Our goal is to provide housing at a substantially lower price in a place built by young adults for young adults, for the first time in Israel.Founded in 2012, the initiative attracted attention and support from high ranking government officials, policy makers, professionals and esteemed professors. The initiative works in collaboration with students' unions of Tel Aviv University and Ben Gurion University in Be'er Sheva, as well as with a wide supports base. The Israeli media has recognized the initiative's potential and has been covering its operations frequently, and some have argued that our initiative is the one with the potential to make a real difference in the Israeli society.we are actively realizing a process of great positive effect on the future of the young generation and the peripheral cities of Israel. this initiative reflects a significant positive turn point in one of Israel's most pressing issues, and will set its members as those who have implemented a historical change.
