Named after North Railroad Avenue, Nora is a neighborhood in Downtown West Palm Beach that will flourish into a cohesive mixed-use district. Relics of West Palm Beach's industrial past will be reimagined with new commercial offerings that celebrate local and national talent. Nora's comprehensive Master plan, led by the City of West Palm Beach and nationally acclaimed urban planning firm PlusUrbia, will champion innovative open spaces and create residential offerings that complement the existing neighborhood and support the rapidly expanding downtown. Nora rests just north of the central business district and Brightline train station and is adjacent to the entrance of the Flagler Memorial Bridge to Palm Beach Island. It is bordered by Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. to the north, North Dixie Hwy to the east, Quadrille Blvd. to the south and the Florida East Coast Railway to the west. The Development team currently controls over 12 acres across 74 individual properties within the neighborhood. The first phase will be focused on the adaptive re-use and development of over 150,000 SF of commercial space infrastructure upgrades, and public realm improvements along North Railroad Ave. to create a vibrant Main Street with unique food and beverage, retail, and creative office. The second phase will offer ground-up residential, office, hotel, and retail development opportunities with the Main Street created on N. Railroad Avenue as the primary amenity. NDT Development, a West Palm Beach real estate and hospitality firm founded by Ned Grace and Damien Barr, identified the potential of the underutilized industrial buildings along the railway and the vacant land. In order to facilitate the growth of Nora, NDT Development partnered with developer and placemaker Joe Furst of Place Projects, known for his role in transforming Wynwood from an underutilized industrial neighborhood into an internationally acclaimed arts, residential, and commercial district.
