Restaurants - New York, NY, US
Thai restaurants in New York are no longer just about pad Thai and curry. In recent years, restaurants have introduced diners to the diverse regional cuisines of Thailand. Now NORA Thai is bringing southern Thai food from the restaurateur that brought the Spice chain of restaurants as well as the hip SEA restaurant to the Big Apple.Kittigron Lertpanaruk ("Khun Oh"), who is a native of southern Thailand in the Nakon Srithammarat province, took on this Williamsburg project to transform the former Qi and Sripraphai space into his own. In the past few years, Khun Oh has shifted his focus as the owner of Arun's in Chicago, one of the city's most respected Thai fine dining restaurant. The opening of NORA Thai is a homecoming of sorts for Khun Oh as he shares the beloved dishes from his home country.Manora, or "Nora", for short, is an elegant style of traditional Thai dance originating in Southern Thailand. Dancers wear ornate headdresses and move with deliberate, rhythmic motions - acting out the "Manahora" legends of Buddha's past lives. Nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Nora Thai provides an immersive dining experience with authentic cuisine and craft cocktails to our patrons in addition to delivery and to-go services for guests on-the-go.Join us at our North 9th Street location (right off of Bedford Ave) and be whisked away by South Thailand's most unique and flavorful culture.
