Melissa Price Kromm is the Director of North Carolina Voters for Clean Elections, North Carolina's leading voice for returning power to North Carolinians and lessening the corrosive influence of special interests in state politics. Kromm serves as lobbyist and leader of the 30+ member coalition. NCVCE has successfully passed the now-repealed "voter-owned" public financing for select judicial and Council of State races, bipartisan electronic disclosure reform, and helped stopped an effort to pack the North Carolina Supreme Court in 2016. Kromm led efforts to stop judicial gerrymandering, and legislative appointment of judges in North Carolina, including a constitutional amendment. In 2020, Kromm lead constitutional crisis efforts in North Carolina including tracking online disinformation and passing a bipartisan pandemic elections bill. Recently, Kromm has led the pro-democracy efforts in North Carolina including filing package pro-voter legislation. Before joining North Carolina Voters for Clean Elections, Kromm was part of a successful effort to pass same-day voter registration a at early voting sites and pre-registration of 16 & 17 year olds in North Carolina.
