Education Management - Lake Bluff, Illinois, United States
North Chicago Community Partners (NCCP) was founded in 2008 by the Gorter Family Foundation in direct response to the lack of outside support for the academic challenges facing the children of North Chicago. In Illinois, schools in low-income communities are massively underfunded – but their students need the same supportive services as students in wealthier communities in order to succeed. In North Chicago, that kind of support is available through NCCP. For more than ten years, the organization has leveraged the resources of the broader community to provide a menu of programs and services that complement classroom instruction and enhance student learning. NCCP's work brings together a range of people to help support its unique "community school" model. In this model, NCCP partners with schools to offer after school enrichment and extended learning opportunities for all students, support teachers, engage parents in the education of their children, and provide opportunities for family learning. NCCP also plays an invaluable role in mobilizing resources to transform public schools in North Chicago.
