Racing History Preservation Group the parent company of the North East Motor Sports Museum is a 501-c-3 nonprofit educational corporation that seeks to discover, preserve and share the history of all motorsports in New England and the northeast. The museum officially opened June 10th, 2017 on the grounds of the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.The North East Motor Sports Museum was created by racers, race fans, their families and local contractors who donated their labor, skills, ideas, dollars and materials. The museum was truly built by the racing community. With cars from virtually every class of racing in New England, a strong motorcycle display, massive photo collection that includes huge murals on the museums walls, a helmet and trophy collection that's the largest in New England. The museum is all about regional motorsports involvement. The museum honors the past, brings us to the present and inspires motor racing's future with young people.The museum is funded entirely upon donations, sales of memberships, willed estate donations, fundraiser engraved brick purchases and private facility rentals. Keeping solvent and its exhibits fresh requires continuing capital contributions. The building is 10,000 square feet and is the first of what will be two buildings. All manner of motorsports are on display including cars and motorcycles that raced on dirt and asphalt oval tracks, drag strips, road courses, hill climb and even soap box derby cars. The museum is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the summer with limited hours in the winter on Saturdays.Displays and unique artifacts are changed frequently throughout the year.
