Dairy - Freeport, Minnesota, United States
North Oak Dairy is a 120-lactating head dairy operation with an additional 40-50 youngstock and 35-45 dry cows on-site. Cows are milked in a DeLaval 8x8 milking parlor system installed in 2006 and our lactating herd is housed in a freestall barn constructed in 2001. We grow our own forages, bedding, and grain to support the animals and each animal stage's Total Mixed Ration (TMR). To diversify the farm's profits, surplus cash grain is grown in soybeans and grain corn. We also provide custom silage chopping/field opening to farmers within the local area. Agro-tourism is not currently available on a consistent basis as there isn't sufficient time to dedicate, however there can always be opportunities made on an as-able basis (with emphasis on winter months)!
