The North Shore Stroke Recovery Centre offers speech maintenance, exercise programs, art and music therapy along with a range of other social, recreational and educational activities for survivors of stroke. Guest speakers visit throughout the year and speak on various topics of interest. The Centre is run under the premises of a peer-and volunteer-supported groups and is staffed by three coordinators and various specialist medical and therapy professionals. Members come together for friendship and information and to work towards their recovery from stroke. The program has three main areas of emphasis: Young Stroke Survivors (adults under the age of 65), Older Stroke Survivors and Caregivers & their loved ones. The North Shore Stroke Recovery Centre operates four days per week, during the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.:Mondays – Young Stroke Survivors at Amica in Edgemont 3225 Highland Blvd, North Vancouver Older Stroke Survivors at Maison Senior Living 701 Keith Rd, West VancouverTuesdays to Thursdays – North Shore Neighbourhood House, 225 E. 2nd St., North Vancouver
