North West Physiotherapy (NWP) opened in 1996 in Brisbane offering general treatment of musculoskeletal problems. The practice owner, Roger McIntosh quickly discovered that most busy Brisbane people were very time poor. This doesn't stop them experiencing pain, it just means they have less time to deal with their own personal condition. It was soon realised that what customers needed was an extensive "all in one" offering delivering a complete range of healthcare solutions from trained and qualified healthcare and medical professionals.McIntosh focussed on recruiting best-of-breed technologies and services both from within the physiotherapy industry and beyond to not only deliver the most effective and consistent physiotherapy service possible, but compete effectively with the surge of alternate therapies on the market. The goal, to deliver a complete all-in-one consistent and formalised healthcare service to achieve rapid and advanced results beyond what any "One" discipline could achieve.Just purchasing new products and services for ‘sale' are not enough. McIntosh has developed formalised procedures and standards to effectively incorporate each new (and often ground-breaking) technology and service into the complete practice ‘entity'.The process has seen NWP grow to 13 staff with a range of synchronised and inter-meshed treatments ranging from traditional physiotherapy, pilates, hydrotherapy, acupuncture, exercise programs and custom made orthotic prescription.
