The Northeastern University International Relations Council has been the forum to discuss and debate important issues of international relations and diplomacy on Northeastern's campus since 1932. The club offers members the chance to travel to competitive Model UN, Model NATO, and Model Arab League conferences, mentor middle school and high school Model UN delegates at a series of conferences at Northeastern, and hone their public speaking skills during weekly debates and workshops. In the 2017-2018 academic year, the Northeastern IRC received a number of awards, including:Best Delegation at the National University Model Arab League conferenceBest Delegation at the International Model NATO 24th best Model UN team according to BestDelegate.comIn 2017, the IRC was awarded the Richard E. Sochacki Organization of the Year Award at the Northeastern Student Life Awards.
