Northern Children's Network Inc (NCN) is a 'Not for Profit', community focussed child care service provider. NCN is committed to providing Tasmanian families access to child care that is not only high quality, but most importantly, fun for children. We are devoted to providing Tasmanian families with access to child care throughout the state. We offer employment opportunities for budding Family Day Care and In Home Care educators, and, most of all, we are here to make sure children have a fun and safe place to play and grow into confident learners. NCN commenced in 1975 as a small child care service and has grown to become the largest provider of Family Day Care in the state. This has been an amazing journey that has seen us go through a name change, a huge increase in services and staff, plus a presence that is known and respected state-wide. We continue to work closely with both rural and regional communities', focusing on supporting their individual needs in relation to child care. In 2011 we opened Southern Childcare Services (SCS) in Hobart. SCS has now grown beyond our expectations, and is considered an important part of the southern community offering flexible home based child care. We currently support approximately 250 registered educators and innumerable families, plus provide employment for 100 staff. Our Long Day Care Centres operate in the rural communities of Beaconsfield, Bicheno, Campbell Town, Triabunna, Queenstown, Scottsdale, St Marys, and Flinders Island. Exciting and fun-packed After School Care and School Holiday Care programs are available at most of these centres. Both After School and School Holiday programs are also available at Amy Road, Newstead, and After School Care at Invermay Primary School. At the heart of everything, we have a simple goal, to help create confident children, whether it be through group play, learning and growth, having fun with their friends, or just exploring.
