The Nossal Institute for Global Health is multi-disciplinary team in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne. The Institute is led by internationally renowned health economist Professor Barbara McPake. We work to strengthen the quality, affordability and inclusiveness of health systems in the Asia Pacific region through practical research, learning and cooperation. Our specialist areas - Disability Inclusion for Health and Development - Education and Learning - Health Systems Governance and Financing - Maternal, Sexual and Reproductive Health - Non-Communicable Diseases - One HealthInclusive development and health service delivery increases security and broadens opportunities for all. Our Disability Inclusion for Health and Development team's research & technical support is working to ensure no-one gets left behind.Knowledge transfer is integral to strengthening systems. Our Education and Learning Unit integrates the insights and learnings from our research and development practice. Countries need strong health systems governance and financing to adapt to changing health needs. Our Health Systems Governance & Financing team work to improve equity in the distribution of and access to health services. We support countries to fulfil the Global Strategy for Women, Children and Adolescents 2016-2030. The Maternal, Sexual and Reproductive Health unit helps build strong health systems that will provide timely, quality maternal, sexual and reproductive health services that are acceptable, affordable and accessible for all.Chronic Disease is a serious threat to health and wellbeing. Our Noncommunicable Disease Unit address key gaps in the prevention and management of chronic disease.The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
