Who are we?Not Another Drop (NAD) was established in February 2001, in response to a number of shootings in Harlesden. In the 18 months prior to the start of the NAD campaign, 12 people were seriously injured and 8 were killed at the hands of a gun. These incidents dubbed Harlesden the "gun capital of London". As a result of this NAD was born out of a unique collaboration between Brent Council, the Metropolitan Police Service and the local community. Over the years this partnership has grown to include more partners, however it has always been recognised that the cornerstone of NAD is the community and without the dedication and support of the people of Brent the past 7 years would not have been as successful. Since 2001 NAD has worked across all sectors of our community to reduce the incidents of violent crime on the borough in particular gun, knife and gang related violence. NAD strives to make Brent a safer borough for all and we have seen a steady decrease in the number of gun and knife enabled crime on the borough. In the period 2007/8 when the rest of London saw an increase in the number of gun and knife related fatalities, Brent reported no fatalities. The partnership approach adopted by NAD and the hard work of those involved has certainly contributed to this downward trend.
