NovaTec Consultants Inc. was an environmental engineering consulting firm that specialized in industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment plant design, research and development, operations support, process optimization and environmental technology performance verification. It was incorporated in October 1984, and continued in business until it was acquired by Golder Associates Ltd. in 2013, and more recently Golder Associates was acquired by WSP in spring 2021. NovaTec's two co-founders, Dr. Troy Vassos and Dr. Sam Turk, are professional (environmental) engineers who continue to consult in the field of water and wastewater treatment and integrated water management. Dr. Turk is currently a Principal with WSP, and Dr. Vassos is the Technical Director for Integrated Sustainability as well as being an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering - Environmental Engineering Group at the University of British Columbia.
