Legal Services - Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
The Animal Law Committee is a volunteer group of young lawyers and law students in NSW, Australia. We have monthly meetings to discuss animal law issues and frequently have guest speakers that include lawyers, academics, charity workers and politicians. We advocate for better legal protections for animals and promote the study of animal law. We do this through making submissions to government inquiries, distributing fact sheets for the general public and organising essay competitions. We hold educational events open to the community, such as documentary screenings and conferences. We also go on occasional visits to animal sanctuaries and attend community events.Unfortunately, we cannot give legal advice. If you need help with a legal matter, please contact the Animals Defenders Office: https://www.ado.org.au/adviceWe recommend visiting the Voiceless website for more information about animal law: https://www.voiceless.org.au/animal-law
