Nuclear Facility Decommissioning Association (abbreviated in Russian as AVERO) is the first-of-a-kind non-state and nonprofit organization in Russia, which unifies entities specialized in nuclear life cycle final stage operations (D&D of nuclear facility, nuclear legacy waste management, spent nuclear fuel management).Key Goals of the Association:- Formation and consolidation of the nuclear business community members specialized in resolution of nuclear legacy waste management and D&D challenges in Russia.- Participation in development and implementation of federal programs and projects focused on nuclear legacy waste management and D&D.- Participation in development and review of legal documents of different levels, improvement of the normative bases, assistance in terms of implementation of adopted norms and standards.- Information exchange support, technology transfer and scientific developments ensuring, dissemination of up-to-date expertise and best practices from all over the world in the field of D&D of nuclear facilities and sites, radioactive waste streams management, SNF management.- Education and training of professionals on technical and managerial topics associated with D&D of nuclear facilities and sites.
