Meaningñu∙ñu∙y - /knew-knew-e/Translates to breastfeeding in Quechua - the language of the Incas. Quechua is still spoken today by the indigenous people of Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia. Our CreatorBrittani Velasquez is the founder and creator of ñuñuy. She lives in the Pacific NW with her husband and their daughter. Brittani and her new baby had a very rough start to their breastfeeding relationship. Read about their story here on our blog.Brittani had anxiety over nursing in public. She did not feel comfortable exposing herself and worried about what other people might think. Would they watch her? Judge her? Maybe even have the nerve to say something negative to her? She was introduced to the 2-shirt method, but was sincerely hoping for something easier, more comfortable, and discreet. Nursing clothing was a game changer! But, it still felt like something was missing. The nursing clothing Brittani purchased lacked the wow factor she was yearning for. The clothing was all made in China and started to show wear after just a few washes. This is how the idea of ñuñuy was born.
