Non-Profit - Nashville, TN, US
NFN's mission is to provide a safety net for families most at-risk in order to prevent infant mortality, child abuse and neglect by providing in-home nursing visits that promote healthcare, education, and positive parenting skills. Our prevention-based home visitation program uses registered nurses to serve high-risk families, including medically fragile babies (e.g., infants born premature, drug exposed (NAS) or experiencing failure to thrive, congenital anomalies or birth complications), mothers with medical, mental health, or substance abuse concerns, and teenage parents in peril. In addition to our in-home nurse visits, we assist clients whenever possible with donated materials needed for safe care, such as diapers, formula, baby food, clothing, bedding, and portable cribs. We welcome volunteers from the community and Nashville area businesses to help us manage the logistics of this work.NFN currently serves families in 8 counties surrounding Middle Tennessee: Cheatham, Davidson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, and Williamson counties.
