NUST Formula Student Team (NFST), formerly known as Formula NUST Racing is the Formula Student team of National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan Navy Engineering College (NUST-PNEC). The team holds the privilege of representing NUST and Pakistan for three consecutive years, at the Europe's most established educational motorsports competition, Formula Student UK.This journey began back in 2012, when a group of engineering students from NUST-PNEC took up this challenge of constructing a formula style vehicle to compete with the teams from the best engineering universities of the world, at the home of British motorsports, the Grand Prix circuit of Silverstone. Since 2012 the team has come a long way ahead, learnt from the experiences gained, and have recorded a massive improvement in a short span of three years. Formula Student, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, challenges student engineers to design, build and test a single seat racing car in one year. The cars are then judged on their speed, acceleration, handling and endurance in a series of time-trial races, while the teams are tested on their design, costing and business presentation skills. The competition serves as the testing ground for the next generation of world class engineers. This year it welcomed 3000 young engineers in 106 teams from 38 nations around the world. Among these teams was the Formula Student Team of National University of Sciences and Technology, representing Pakistan for the third consecutive year as the only team from the country.The team managed to win The Most effective Communications Strategy Award at Formula Student UK 2014. In 2015 NUST Formula Student Team managed to take part in Formula Student Germany and Formula Student UK and secured among top teams ranking in both competitions.
