Katherine Allsopp-Smith and NZK Design together have been creating environments since 1999. We are based in New Zealand, the USA, and France. Over the years, we have had the pleasure to be part of incredible teams working on large scale motor yachts, private homes, and transformative commercial projects.At the core of who we are, we believe Architecture and design can be truly transformative!We believe well-being is affected by our spaces, whether it be home or work. We strive to reconcile human beings and their natural ecosystems. We understand the need for every residence to be a retreat from the stress of daily life. However, a working space should be no different. We believe in an organic material palette to express a sense of permanence. We believe in environments that age gracefully and contribute to a sense of place, belonging and emotional interaction, simultaneously fostering a sense of community, maintaining individuality and identity. For me, "Architecture and design transcend religion, culture, and race, we came from the earth, there's no need to explain why we feel at peace back in nature. Like unity between the building, furnishings, and occupant - Design for me is the perfect union between body, soul, and sense."
