Since its modest beginning in premises near Johannesburg's old produce market in Newton, South Africa, back in January 1982, O-line developed into a leading manufacturer of cable management and structural support systems in South Africa and the African content as well as Far East.The company began as a small supplier of standard wiring channels, cable ladders and trays, mechanical supports, concrete anchor channels, cable clamps, hangers and a limited range or power skirting. Rapid growth necessitated the move to 14/16 Prop Street, Selby Ext, Johannesburg, which still today houses O-line's administrative headquarters and warehouse.In 2007 O-line listed on the Alternative Exchange Market (ATLX) under the name of OLI which consisted of a well-balanced share distribution consisting of Management, Individuals, Mutual Funds, Nomineed & Trusts. Raised Capital from the successful listing was again utilized to expand the organization O-line undertook a vertical acquisition of resources and acquired the second largest galvanizing organization in the country, the well-known Armco Superlite (Pty) Ltd in 2008 which came with two other divisions being Constructions Products and Road Safety Products.The divisions and Group of companies combine their expertise, services and products producing a synergistic wealth, strategically aimed at sectors that provide a value added to infrastructural developing countries withing African and parts of the global arena.Since 2012 after a short but successful run on the stock exchange O-line and Armco was acquired by a prestigious German company OBO Bettermann and hence delisted forming the African arm of the OBO Bettermann group (OBO Bettermann Holdings Africa Limited Group).Today, a sophisticated distribution network, consisting of branch offices and stockists in all main centres, ensures that O-line and Armco brand products are a household name throughout Southern Africa and Internationally.
