Oasis for Posterity (OfP) is a registered social welfare organization. OfP is registered under the Department of Social Welfare, Ministry of Social Welfare, Bangladesh. OfP is also registered under the NGOA Affairs Bureau that enable it to carry out national level welfare activities with foreign donations. OfP is located in and working for development of the famine region of Bangladesh. People in the OfP projects area suffer from seasonal food and nutritional insecurity, poor access to health services and sanitary facilities. Here source of income and nutrition is mostly the traditional agriculture. This region has an extreme poverty rate of 60% and literacy rate of around 19%. Schools and colleges impart backdated curricula and hardly have any modern educational facilities. Average income of most of the family heads is US$1 a day on which other family members depend. This lingering situation has contributed to make this a famine region in the Bangladesh Poverty Map. So are the OfP's undertakings, open for all to participate, for comprehensive transformation to shape a prosperous future for this impoverished community..
