"Obake" (o-bah-kay) is a Japanese word that has come describe nearly all monsters, but it literally translates as "changing thing", the shapeshifter. We feel this idea best describes our collective art house label. We shift across artistic mediums. We're fascinated by layers, facades, and hidden truths. We're also heavily influenced by Japanese art and history, from Jōmon to Heisei. Magen Mitchell is an award winning designer, illustrator, and painter with a decade of experience in the industry. Her work has shown at galleries like Q Pop Shop and Bear and Bird Gallery, and she's proud to have worked with clients like Discovery Gateway Children's Museum, Kohl Children's Museum, and the National Energy Foundation. She's currently designing new jewelry and getting prepared for a busy pop culture convention season.Nick Burke is a writer/actor/director and when needed, a photographer, and sculptor. He wrote for, acted in, and directed the second season of the web series Proper Manors.
