The Oceanic Observatory of Madeira (OOM) seeks to become a centre of excellence dedicated to research and permanent monitoring of the ocean. This initiative brings together a multidisciplinary scientific community, joining several institutions with the aim of promoting cooperation and resource optimization. The consolidation of historical data, observations and forecasts in a common platform will allow the Autonomous Region of Madeira to more effectively meet the demands of marine resources evaluation and management, providing the region with adequate means for its sustainable development.
