OC Human Relations is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to foster mutual understanding among residents and eliminate prejudice, intolerance and discrimination in order to make Orange County a better place for ALL people to live, work and do business. OC Human Relations is dedicated to creating a future where we, as a community, are made stronger by our diversity rather than being broken into antagonistic factions based upon our differences. We envision a community where all people feel valued and included, and we are about the business of creating the model programs that can bring life to that vision. To realize our vision, we provide proactive, inter-group relations and violence prevention programs in schools and communities throughout Orange County. These programs are provided in partnerships with individuals, corporations, schools, cities and foundations. The goal is to eliminate prejudice, intolerance and discrimination. The programs provided by OC Human Relations include: - Community Building; Community Capacity Building through community organizing; Living Room Dialogues, diversity training and tracking and reporting Hate Crime for the County of Orange - Mediation, including community, family and court based multi-lingual dispute resolution services and Mediation Certification Training - BRIDGES Safe & Respectful School Program, Summer BRIDGES Youth Leadership Camp, Walk In My Shoes Youth Leadership Symposiums, Restorative Practices training, Connected Classrooms Teacher Training and Parent Leadership Institutes for non-English speaking parents
