The Office for Conservation and Community Outreach (OCCO) is an urban think tank dedicated to the study and analysis of Lahore's urban environment. The organization was set up in 2005 and overtime has consisted of a varied team of architects, journalists, conservationists, environmentalists, product designers, traffic and GIS technicians. OCCO has been involved in several research projects archiving and documenting urban transformations, city planning and its failures, giving alternatives as strategies to upgrade the performance of the city, while keeping the urban and communal environments intact and sustainable. As an organization strongly rooted in research and academics, team members of OCCO are also involved in teaching architecture studios at the National College of Arts. In the past, OCCO has also invited academics from all over the world for seminars and workshops and has held exhibitions displaying our work.
