Nonprofit Organization Management - Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria
Occupational Health Research and Development Initiative (OHRDI) is the first nonprofit organisation which works to protect, promote and restore the health of all workers in the sub-region, while helping organisations remain profitable. Our mission is to improve access of all workers and employers in West Africa to safe and quality occupational health knowledge and services. We understand that in order to ensure the health of the worker, a multi-disciplinary approach is required. Therefore, OHRDI brings together a wide range of professionals with an interest in protecting the health of workers. Professionals including, but not limited to: occupational health physicians, occupational health nurses, occupational hygienists, psychologists, ergonomists, safety professionals, engineers, lawyers, human resource professionals and other NGOs and organizations, serve as "high value resources" and all play a vital role in helping us achieve our goals and objectives. From our head office in Lagos Nigeria, we strive to provide quality occupational health and hygiene services to workers in West Africa, particularly those in the informal sector, which accounts for a large percentage of the workforce in the sub-region. The level of poverty and ignorance about occupational health in the region, means that these individuals are either unaware of the health effects of exposures at work or simply cannot afford to seek occupational health services. We also advocate for the implementation of occupational health laws, regulations and programs in the sub-region. Our other strategies include conducting ethical research with regards health of workers, training and capacity building and occupational health data management. We subscribe to the notion that occupational health is an integral part of the fundamental right of everyone to health. We believe that every worker has the right to be protected from occupational diseases and work related illnesses.Website: https://www.ohrdi.orgGo to link to see video: https://quik.gopro.com/v/iafTCVvJKe/
