The scope of the Centre of Vocational Education and Training OEAD is to provide flexible vocational training programmes for the development of human resources in various fields within the framework of lifelong learning. OEAD is a leading provider of independent studies with modern training facilities located in the center of Athens and scientific staff of over 150 teachers and researchers. Since 2000 the National Accreditation Center (EKEPIS) awarded OEAD (ex CVT SBIE) top accreditation marks in the fields of Health and Care, Information Technology, Business and Administration, Tourism and Services. OEAD is active in the field of adult general and vocational education and targets to employees and unemployed people. Given the fact that Europe faces the financial crisis at the moment, adult education institutions have to adapt to the current needs of labor market and update their services. Therefore, OEAD has oriented its services toward the main guidelines and priorities stressed out by the European Commission. Main focus is given to skills training and initiatives that will enable people to be active in the labor market and will promote their employability. In the same framework, OEAD is engaged to many European projects like Leonardo, Grundvig and Commenius programs in order to provide mobility opportunities and new aspects to its students and staff.
