Our mission is to stimulate, protect, manage and transfer intellectual property from the University to the private sector for commercialization. We aim to fulfill this mission while also enabling you to freely publish and present your work as part of your scholarly research activities.Services:• Confidentiality Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, Inter-Institutional Agreements, Options and Licenses• Intellectual Property Protection for UM Employee Inventions• Patent Searches, Market Research, Background Searches for Proposals• Federal Reporting for Sponsored Research Inventions• Marketing, Licensing, and Business Development support for UM Owned Inventions• Start Up Assistance for UM Employees and coordination with Insight Park® and the Center for Innovation EntrepreneurshipGoals:• Manage an efficient process that ensures research outcomes with commercial potential are protected and then commercialized into the private sector• Increase the number of technologies licensed to commercial partners• Facilitate the formation of companies based on UM technologies• Enable you to freely publish and present your work as part of your scholarly research
