Ohio End of Life Options in 2015 by Lisa Vigil Schattinger, MSN, RN. When her stepfather, a resident of Oregon, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2014 he chose to use the state's Death with Dignity Law and Lisa and her family were at his side when he died peacefully. Upon her return to Ohio, Ms. Schattinger shared her story and people across the state told her they want a medical aid-in-dying law in Ohio. We are committed to the belief that terminally ill adults should be able to make personal end-of-life decisions based on their own faith, values and beliefs in consultation with their doctors, family and faith/spiritual leaders.
