One Chapter Soy Candles was founded by my mom in 2006. Here's the story: In October of 2004, my mom was diagnosed with infiltrating ductile carcinoma (a type of breast cancer). The BRCA gene mutation struck again in the family. I was just 9 years old, and my brother 11, when we found out. She fought for her life, through chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries, for 16 months. Finally, at the beginning of 2006, she was in remission. A few months later, she started One Chapter Soy Candles. The name came from her belief that breast cancer was only one chapter of her life, not the whole book. This is an ideal that can be applied to almost every situation we all face. After 14 years I have decided to take what my mom started and grow the business into the company it was always dreamed to be. I hope that these candles bring as much joy to you as they did me as a little girl making them with my mom!
