We are ONE Foundation for Arts and Culture – a platform for contemporary culture that produces the festivals ONE DESIGN WEEK, ONE ARCHITECTURE WEEK and ONE DANCE WEEK. They are among the largest and most recognizable events in the Balkans in the subjects design, dance and urban environment.Our foundation is the successor of the platform for contemporary culture ONE, which published for ten years (until 2011) the eponymous magazine for cultural and social trends and at the same time organized dozens of events that helped to open up the Bulgarian cultural scene to the rest of the world. Today we organize three major events for design, architecture and dance, as well as many other projects with the common goal to develop the local scene and to give access of the Bulgarian audiences to high quality contemporary cultural content from all over the world. We are convinced that the meetings with the world's best examples create an opportunity to discuss the cultural context, that they build aesthetic sense and are a good condition for the exchange of visionary ideas.We work for the integration of Bulgaria to the European and global cultural scene as well as for the development of contemporary arts in the country. We strive to attract new audiences for high-quality contemporary culture and to allow socially disadvantaged groups to gain access to inspiring cultural content. We organize events that build bridges – between communities, generations and nationalities. Our long-term mission – through the high-quality content that we produce or present – is to inspire new generations of cultural managers in Bulgaria and thus to be active participants in the reform process of the cultural sector.
