Think Tanks - Copenhagen, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark
In March 2019 a new think tank was established in Denmark. The think tank brings together research institutions, public authorities, companies and organisations to advance efforts to achieve SDG 12.3.The overall purpose of the think tank is to ensure collaboration across the entire food product chain and to ensure that interventions targeting SDG 12.3 on reduction and prevention of food loss and food waste are founded on specialist knowledge. The think tank is based on the principle of impact assessments prior to decisions. The think tank accelerates the link between knowledge and real actions, mobilizes companies to take greater social responsibility, and together with the rest of Denmark provides a test environment for Food Loss and Waste interventions. The think tank is based on a solid Danish tradition, where solutions are developed in collaboration between the private sector, public sector and research. The basic philosophy is that the most effective and durable solutions to society's major challenges are developed jointly by the community's leading actors and without distinction of individual interests. With a focus on solutions developed across actors - and through targeted influence in influential decision-making forums - the think tank will set new standards in the fight against food waste and food loss both in Denmark and internationally.//Debate and comments are most welcome on our page.
