Lalana means 'road' in Malagasy. ONG Lalana aims to contribute to the sustainable development process in Madagascar by advocating for adequate transport infrastructures and improved, safe and inclusive transport services. Founded in 1998, Lalana is a civil society organization with more than 20 years of experience in the transport sector in Madagascar; it is the only NGO in Madagascar specializing in road and transport. Our work is guided by strong values: initiative, professionalism and creativity. Our strategic objectives are to: • Improve mobility in rural areas;• Make good use of Madagascar's infrastructure investment;• Contribute to the rebuilding of Madagascar's road assets;• Support local poverty reduction initiatives;• Improve access to basic socioeconomic services;• Reduce the negative impact of roads;• Promote citizen agency and government accountability.
