Uisce beatha is Gaelic and translates to 'water of life'. Pronounced 'ooshkie bayahah', the phrase was used to describe distilled alcohol by Irish Monks and the eventual mispronunciation of this phrase led to our modern day term for whisky. As Ooshkie was the first word in whisky, it will equally be the first place for all whisky explorers to begin their journey and for enthusiasts to find their favourite drams.
