Nonprofit Organization Management - Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Open Data Ottawa is a group of citizens intent on building cool stuff with public data.We organize hackfests at City Hall where designers, artists, mathematicians, city staff, councillors, software developers, statisticians, moms, dads, and everyday citizens come together to make web applications and learn how open data can improve their everyday lives. We also give presentations on open data all over the place, ranging from biz dev discussions with MBAs and OCRI panels to tech-heavy talks featuring Steam-based achievements to young software engineers at CUSEC.Thanks to CBC, CTV, U of O and Carleton journalism and radio students, we've appeared on pretty much every medium of news.
