The Open House initiative was founded in London in 1992, and on the eve of its 20th anniversary we are happy to announce that Perth has joined an international family of Open House cities including London, New York, Barcelona and Melbourne.Architecture, Interiors, Landscape, Public Art and Urban Design play a significant role in our day to day experience of the city. Open House Perth seeks to enhance this experience through a celebration of the city, enabling people to explore buildings and spaces normally closed to the public, completely for free. Open House Perth 2012 destinations are sited within a 30 minute walking radius, and are all highly accessible via public transport or walking.The focus of Open House Perth is to provide a better understanding of high quality design through the principles of advocacy and education. Open House Perth will introduce a program of destinations, events, talks, competitions and exhibitions that celebrate your city. The 2012 building program includes an exciting range of residential, commercial, hospitality, civic and performance spaces ranging from the early 20th century to recently complete projects.
