With a goal to build an open data ecosystem by integrating the OpenStreetMap platform, open geospatial data, non geo spatial data, open government and non-government data produced by different government and non-government agencies, The Foundation is established to make OSM popular and ensure its wide application in country and identifies all the existing OSM practitioners and creates new practitioners to bring them under one umbrella and also form a network of OSM practitioners from national to union levels. It makes a Linkage among the international communities and chapters. To build a open data ecosystem by integrating openstreetmap, open geospatial, non geo spatial data, open government and non-government data produced by different government and non-government agencies. To collect information and achieved experienced on community issues all over Bangladesh and bring the information on the open platform in spatial and non-spatial manner to enhance the coordination among the concerned agencies as well as the cross boundary. To organize trainings on openstreetmap, QGIS, GeoNode, OpenLayers, Carto in an integrated approach for addressing and solving the community issues such as (a) Tagging and mapping the vulnerable communities through OpenStreetMap; (b) Pre-disaster mapping in pro poor communities; (c) Disaster response initiative by open data; (d) Strengthening the community by ICT knowledge;(e) Training on object-oriented data analysis and visualization and (f) Hands on training on bridging data portals. It provides consultancy and support in the field of education, training, data mining data management, digital innovation and Information technology-based solution, research, etc. & assist the smooth implementation of different kind of development projects.
