The Chair of Operations Research offers research and teaching in applied mathematical optimization at RWTH Aachen since 2010. We are affiliated with the school of business and economics and the department of mathematics. Our team consists of 10+ scientific staff members and 30+ research students.Our teaching comprises courses in quantitative methods, operations research, computational optimization, graph and network algorithms, algebraic modeling languages, discrete optimization, etc. for students of mathematics, computer science, economics, and engineering.The scientific activities of our team range from fundamental research (in particular model and algorithm development and implementation) in disrete optimization and operations research to industrial strength applications in production, logistics, mobility, transportation, energy, politics, education, health care, etc.
